EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In February 2024, staff in the Public Works Fleet Division issued an Invitation to Bid for Ford Maverick XL Hybrid trucks for use by the Public Works and Community Development Departments. In March, the City utilized the bid to purchase two of the three vehicles scheduled for replacement. This purchase would provide a new truck to replace the third vehicle, Unit #57, which is assigned to the Building and Safety Division.
BACKGROUND
In June 2023, the City Council approved Decision Package #38 - Carryover Vehicle Replacement Purchases from FY 2022-23. Decision Package #38 allocated funding for vehicles that the City planned to purchase in FY 2022-23 but had not yet been able to procure due to supply-chain issues and market inventory shortages and included funding for two Community Development Building and Safety Division vehicles, Units #57 and #59.
The City issued an Invitation to Bid on February 19, 2024 for Ford Maverick XL Hybrid trucks (quantity 1-3). The successful bid came from Colley Ford for a total of 2 units, meeting the bid specifications for Public Works Department Storm/Sewer Division (Unit #352) and the Community Development Department Building and Safety Division (Unit #59). City Council approved the purchase of two units on March 19, 2024. At this time, staff recommends the purchase of an additional Ford Maverick XL Hybrid truck from Colley Ford for the successful Bid quote of $36,053.02 per unit. This vehicle will replace Community Development, Building and Safety Division Unit #57, which is past the end of its useful life and is scheduled for replacement.
The vehicles and equipment approved for replacement as part of Decision Package #38 and the status of their acquisition is as follows:

Staff recommends purchasing the vehicle identified through the bid process and authorizing the Mayor to execute all required procurement documents.
COORDINATION
The Public Works Department coordinated this report with the Financial Services Department and the City Attorney’s Office.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding for the purchase, totaling $36,053.02, is available in the appropriated Public Works Fleet Vehicle Replacement operating budget.
