EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Approval of the proposed Agreement provides the Redondo Beach Police Department (Department) with Peregrine Technologies, Inc. (Peregrine) proprietary data management software that applies deduplication algorithms to consolidate access to six disparate software platforms in order to improve investigative efficiency and streamline the integration of both legacy and current software programs utilized by the Department.

BACKGROUND
Like many organizations, the Police Department uses several mandatory, and discretionary, computer platforms for various functions from different vendors that are not designed to communicate with one another. Although different software vendors provide distinct and valuable tools for Police functions, the lack of interoperability slows down access to information, complicates data comparison across the different systems, and hinders the administration of user credentials and password management.

To address these challenges, in 2023, the Police Department began exploring computer database aggregators. During this process, the Department identified Peregrine as a leader in this space. Peregrine utilizes proprietary technology to seamlessly access different systems from one, consolidated dashboard, simplifying the investigative research and reducing the time required for both end-users and system administrators.
