EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Each year, the City temporarily modifies the local parking regulations around Redondo Union High School to accommodate participants and visitors of the Redondo Beach Unified School District's Middle School Commencement and High School Graduation ceremonies. It is recommended that the City Council continue the practice and approve the proposed Resolution allowing the general public to park in the Vincent and Vincent 2 preferential parking districts on June 11 and 12, 2025.
BACKGROUND
In prior years, the City Council has approved the suspension of preferential parking districts on the north and south side of the Redondo Union High School campus for High School Graduation and Middle School Commencement ceremonies. The Vincent District restricts parking from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. The Vincent 2 District restricts parking from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM Monday through Friday and from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Saturday.
Each year the graduation and commencement ceremonies for the Patricia Dreizler Continuation High School and the Adams and Parra Middle Schools take place at the Redondo Union High School auditorium, a day prior to the Redondo Union High School graduation ceremony, which takes place at the Sea Hawk Bowl. This year the ceremonies will be held throughout the day on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 and on Thursday, June 12, 2025.
