BACKGROUND

In accordance with Redondo Beach Municipal Code 2-9.101, the Commission will nominate and elect by simple majority a Chair and Vice Chair for the term October 2026 - September 2027. This item has been prepared to provide the Commission an opportunity to make these appointments.
Staff recommends, as procedure:
1. Sitting (current) chairperson opens nominations for chairperson and vice chair.
2. Chairperson closes nominations.
3. Chairperson accepts motion and second for chairperson.
4. Chairperson conducts a roll call vote of Commissioners for chairperson. A majority vote carries.
5. Chairperson accepts motion and second for vice chair.
6. Chairperson conducts a roll call vote of Commissioners for vice chair. A majority vote carries.
7. Newly elected chairperson and vice chair are seated.
