EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) Board approved a $4,000,000 increase to the amount of Regional Measure M funds provided for the North Redondo Beach Bikeway (NRBB) Extension - Inglewood Avenue Project, Job No. 41260 (Project). The Project (not to be confused with the recently completed extension of the bike path from Felton Lane to Inglewood) will extend the North Redondo Beach Bikeway on the Southern California Edison right of way from its newly finished terminus at Inglewood Avenue, southward on the west side of Inglewood Avenue to the intersection with Grant Avenue. The Project also includes pedestrian improvements, reconstruction of curb ramps, and the development of a mobility hub at the southeast quadrant of the intersection. Amendment No. 2 to the Funding Agreement increases the total project budget to $5,735,000 and includes a completion date of Summer 2027.
BACKGROUND
Measure M is a one-half cent sales tax approved by the Los Angeles County voters in November 2016 to meet the transportation, highway, and transit needs of Los Angeles County. The South Bay Cities Council of Governments (SBCCOG) initially approved the design of the project for $200,000, which was approved by Metro on September 15, 2021. Subsequently, on July 28, 2022, the SBCCOG amended the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Measure M Multi-Year Regional Programs and approved an amendment to add $1,535,000 to the Project for updated design and ROW acquisition.
