EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Microsoft Enterprise Agreement, renewed every three years, provides discounted volume licensing to the City of Redondo Beach (City) for Microsoft products and services. The most recent renewal was approved on August 6, 2019 via the County of Riverside Microsoft Master Agreement and processed by PCM, Inc. acting as the reseller. PCM, Inc. has been acquired by Insight Public Sector, Inc. (Insight). Consent to the assignment by the City acknowledges and agrees to Insight assuming all reseller obligations under the EA.

BACKGROUND

The Microsoft EA three-year renewal in August, 2019 licensed the City for Microsoft 365 and included the Office 365 suite of applications, Windows 10 Enterprise and Enterprise Mobility + Security. Also included in the renewal was Exchange Online email only, Advanced Threat Protection Services, Windows Server Data Center licensing and Azure commitment. The City renewed under the County of Riverside Master Agreement which entitled the City to Level D pricing, the deepest discount available to governmental agencies, plus an additional 7.5% discount. By leveraging this agreement, the City locked in pricing on these products for the full term of the contract and minimized up-front costs by spreading payments over three years.

COORDINATION

The Consent to Assignment was coordinated between Information Technology staff and Insight and approved as to form by the City Attorney’s office.

FISCAL IMPACT
