EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The purpose of this Memorandum of Agreement is to formalize the working relationship between Redondo Beach Police Department (RBPD) and Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) ICAC Task Force. RBPD agrees to join the ICAC Task Force for the primary purpose of investigating ICAC cases stemming from Redondo Beach. By joining the Task Force, RBPD will benefit from grant resources, joint operations and training opportunities. Los Angeles ICAC Task Force will benefit from RBPD's investigative support. ]

BACKGROUND
Los Angeles Police Department ICAC Task Force is the recipient of a Department of Justice grant to enforce laws regarding Internet Crimes Against Children. LAPD utilizes the grant to administer and operate the Los Angeles ICAC Task Force. Due to an increase of ICAC cases and technological aspects, the Task Force promotes a multi-jurisdictional and multi-agency team approach to investigating and prosecuting ICAC cases.

The mission of the Los Angeles ICAC Task Force is to: (1) properly investigate and prosecute those who sexually exploit children using the internet and/or computers; (2) provide training and equipment to those involved in investigating and prosecuting ICAC; and, (3) provide community education regarding the prevention of ICAC.

This MOU would give RBPD the ability to investigate ICAC cases within Redondo Beach with the assistance of LAPD ICAC Task Force resources. Along with assistance, RBPD will receive grant funded resources to assist with ICAC cases. An RBPD Officer will not be requir...
