RECOMMENDATION
Discussion and possible action on the selection of artist submissions to be placed onto the 9 remaining utility boxes that were selected at the September 23, 2020 Commission meeting.
BACKGROUND
There are currently 102 artwork submissions available for the Commission’s consideration and possible recommendation to be installed onto the 10 previously selected utility boxes across the City’s five Districts. Two phases of utility boxes have been completed to date. Each prior phase has been comprised of a single or pair of utility boxes per District.
At the November 18, 2020 meeting, the Commission selected artist Samuel Dixon for the Esplanade and Avenue I location:
Upper box: 14b
Lower box: 14a
A motion was approved at the November 18, 2020 meeting that each member of the Commission choose a primary and secondary art design for each of the remaining 9 approved utility boxes. The Commission artwork selections were to be e-mailed to staff so they could be reviewed and finalized at the January 27, 2021 meeting
