EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Inglewood Avenue at Manhattan Beach Boulevard Intersection Improvements (Southbound Right Turn Lane) Project is included in the City's current capital improvement program and is designed to improve the level of service at the intersection. Two project milestones were recently completed with the completion of the necessary project right-of-way acquisition and the Metropolitan Water District's utility relocation.
The Project plans and specifications are complete and are ready for a competitive bidding. They are available for review at the Plans and Specifications Review Area located behind the Engineering permit counter at the City Hall. The Engineer's construction estimate for this project is $540,000. Construction is expected to begin in August 2021 and take about ninety (90) working days to complete.
BACKGROUND
On October 23, 2014, the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) approved $5,175,000 in Regional Measure R funds for the Inglewood Avenue at Manhattan Beach Boulevard Intersection Improvements (Southbound Right Turn Lane) Project and on May 5, 2015, the City Council entered into funding agreement #MOU.MR312.42 with LACMTA accepting the funds for project development, design, right-of-way acquisition, and construction. On June 20, 2017, the City Council awarded a design and right-of-way services contract to Onward Engineering.
