EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Planning Commissioners Dan Elder and Rolf Strutzenberg were elected to Redondo Beach Unified School District Board of Education in the Redondo Beach General Municipal Election of March 2, 2021.  On April 27, 2021, they were sworn into office by City Clerk Eleanor Manzano. The commissioners were notified that the offices of City Planning Commissioner and School Board are incompatible offices upon running for elective office and could no longer serve on the Redondo Beach Planning Commission if elected.

 

BACKGROUND

Commissioner Strutzenberg was appointed to the Planning Commission on October 10, 2017 for a four-year term ending September 30, 2021.  He was duly elected to the office of Member of Board of Education in the Redondo Beach General Municipal Election of March 2, 2021, results of which were certified on March 16, 2021.

Commissioner Elder was appointed to second term on the Planning Commission on October 1, 2020 for a four-year term ending September 30, 2024. He was duly elected to the office of Member of Board of Education in the Redondo Beach General Municipal Election of March 2, 2021, results of which were certified on March 16, 2021.
