EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Canine Ammo is approximately six years old and has served the resdents of Redondo Beach for more than five years. Canine Ammo has lived with Officer Lofstrom and his family for the last five years of his service career. Canine Ammo has reached his service life and the Police Department recommends the City sell canine Ammo to Officer Lofstrom for the sum of one dollar.
BACKGROUND
The City of Redondo Beach purchased canine Ammo more than five years ago. He has lived and worked with Officer Lofstrom twenty-four hours a day every day for over five years. Canine Ammo participated in numerous searches and other deployments for the Redondo Beach Police Department and other agencies within the South Bay. Canine Ammo has reached his service life. Accompanied with the Canine Ownership Transfer Agreement, the Police Department recommends the City sell canine Ammo for the sum of one dollar to Officer Lofstrom. This would be in the best interest of the canine, the canine team, and the City of Redondo Beach.
COORDINATION
Canine Ownership Transfer Agreement has been approved as to form by the City Attorney's Office.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no cost to the City for the retirement of canine Ammo.
