EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In accordance with the City Charter, on May 16, 2021, the Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2021-2022 and the Proposed Five-Year Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for Fiscal Years 2021-2026 were released and then distributed to the Budget and Finance Commissioners. The Budget and Finance Commission received and filed the documents on May27, 2021.
BACKGROUND
Tonight’s meeting is a follow-up to the May 27, 2021 overview of the Proposed budgets. A copy of the Administrative Report from that meeting is included for additional background information.
To date, 20 Budget Response Reports (attached) have been prepared. These Budget Response Reports provide detailed information above and beyond what we are able to provide in the budget’s transmittal message. They help “tell the story” of significant budget issues to be addressed in the coming year and beyond.
The Proposed Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Budget is balanced in accordance with the City Council’s adopted Financial Principles. If all Decision Packages are adopted as modifications to the core budget, the General Fund’s unallocated balance (annual revenues over expenditures) would be $869.
COORDINATION
All departments participated in the preparation of the Fiscal Year 2021-2022 City Manager’s Proposed Budget and the Fiscal Years 2021-2026 City Manager’s Proposed Five-Year CIP.
FISCAL IMPACT
The City Manager’s Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Proposed Budget, including capital project funding, totals $174.1 million. The City Council’s Adopted Budget will create the financial plan for all City operations.
