EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In November 2019, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a motion to allocate $739,685 to the South Bay Cities Council of Governments (SBCCOG) to provide Innovation Funds for Homeless Services. The county entered into a contract with the SBCCOG on February 11, 2020 to provide homeless services. On October 6, 2020, the Mayor and City Council approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the SBCCOG after the SBCCOG awarded the City of Redondo Beach an Innovation Grant in the amount of $245,287 for the Enhanced Response Program to Homelessness. The terms for both the contract and MOU expired June 30, 2021. Los Angeles County extended the contract with the SBCCOG to December 31, 2021, allowing the COG and the cities that received this funding from the COG to continue using those funds until December. As such, the term of the MOU between Redondo Beach and the COG needs to be extended to the same date.
