EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Council directed staff to draft a municipal code amendment akin to section 2-9.707 which would permit the removal of commissioners from all commissions, not just the Harbor Commission. Staff drafted Redondo Beach Municipal code Section 2-9.109.
Second reading of municipal code provision adding Section 2-9.109, and repealing section 2-9.707 as it would no longer be required.
BACKGROUND
At the August 10, 2021 City Council meeting, the Council directed staff to bring back a discussion of expanding section 2-9.707 to apply to all commissions. That item was discussed by the council at its next meeting on August 17th and the vote was three to two (3-2) to bring back an ordinance which would do just that. Staff drafted an ordinance which was introduced for first reading at the September 7th, 2021 City Council Meeting.

We coordinated with the City Clerks and Waterfront and Economic Development Departments.
