EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The South Bay Cities Council of Governments (SBCCOG) is awarding the Beach Cities an additional $27,832 for the shared case management from Harbor Interfaith. Staff recommends that the City Council approve the Second Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to accept this additional funding.
BACKGROUND
On February 2, 2022, the cities of El Segundo, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach entered into an MOU with the SBCCOG for funding for shared case management from Harbor Interfaith to outreach to people experiencing homelessness and help them get housed. On July 1, 2023, the SBCCOG awarded the Beach Cities additional funding and extended the MOU to November 22, 2024, so a First Amendment was approved to accept that funding. The SBCCOG has secured additional Measure H funding from LA County to implement the Beach Cities case management project, and will grant the Beach Cities another $27,832. Staff recommends that the City Council approve the Second Amendment to accept this funding.
COORDINATION
The City Attorney’s Office coordinated with the South Bay Cities Coalition of Government and the Beach Cities to execute the MOU.
FISCAL IMPACT
Manhattan Beach executes the agreement with Harbor Interfaith, so there is no fiscal impact to Redondo Beach.
