EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Staff is seeking authorization from the City Council to purchase one replacement vehicle for the Public Works Department, Building Maintenance Division (Unit #322). The existing vehicle used by the Division is at the end of its normal replacement cycle and was approved for funding in FY 2023-24. Competitive pricing for the vehicles has been secured through the City's regular purchasing procedures.

BACKGROUND
In June 2023, the City Council Approved Decision Package # 39 - Annual Vehicle Replacement Purchases. The Decision Package allocated $2,637,870 for the replacement of 19 City vehicles and equipment in the FY 2023-24 budget, including funding for Public Works Unit #322, which is being recommended for purchase at this time.

The F-750 CNG flatbed truck is recommended for purchase to deploy in the Building Maintenance Division. The new vehicle will replace an existing vehicle that is at the end of its replacement cycle and is critical to maintenance operations.

The vehicle will be ordered and is anticipated to be delivered to the City in the next 12 to 18 months. This is an extended timeline caused by shortages and delays experienced in the vehicle market, specifically in the upfitting of vehicles with CNG power for specialized use.
