EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Pursuant to a City Council Strategic Plan initiative, the City is currently in the process of preparing construction drawings for an extension to the North Redondo Beach Bikeway ("NRBB") from Felton Avenue to Inglewood Avenue as part of the Bicycle Plan Implementation Project, Job No. 40510 (the "Project") using the services of Hirsch & Associates (HAI). At the time of award of that work, the City had not identified money to construct the facility once designed. Recently, however, the City was awarded a $1M Regional Measure M grant from Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (METRO) to construct the Project.

This new funding allows for some additional design considerations that were originally not included in the design scope of work for HAI. Staff is recommending approval of this Second Amendment to the contract with HAI in the amount of $14,000 to allow for additional design of landscaping enhancements and irrigation system installation to the two parcels where the bike path extension will be built. In addition, to obtain Southern California Edison ("SCE") approval, the plan set requires a grounding plan signed by an electrical engineer.
