EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Replacement of the aging King Harbor sign located in the 2300 block of 190th Street has been long planned as part of the City's Wayfinding and Signage Program. The sign welcomes motorists to the Redondo Beach Harbor Area and is placed on a structure that spans over the westbound lanes. (See Attachment 1, Figure 1). The 190th Street King Harbor Entry Sign and Pedestrian Signal Improvements Project, Job No. 10160/41200 will replace the existing overhead sign and structures with a new sign and will also include work to install new traffic signal equipment, upgraded pedestrian crossing equipment, new curb ramps, and modified signing and striping. The new sign is consistent with the standards of the City's Wayfinding and Signage Program adopted in March 2008.

Plans and specifications for the project are ready for competitive bidding. The Engineer's construction cost estimate is $108,000. Construction of the project is anticipated to begin after receipt of the new signal poles in June 2021.
